Consider the 19 - LSAF 2010

I'm going to LSAF in Dallas this year, my first time. I'll have a room, but no audio gear in it. Lone Star Audio Fest

So maybe I need to put a pair of Altec 19s in there for show. Let the crowds hear a "real" speaker.

I don't own a pair, but have almost all the parts. Would be fun to have it there as a reference.

If I can't put my hands on a pair (of 19s, what were you thinking?) John B may lend me his 605+18" woofer on OB rig from last year. That would be fun. John is building a 2x18" + 10" + tweeter rig for this year. OB, or course.

So what do you think? Would it be fun to have a model 19 there as a reality check for all this new fangled Hi-Fi?

Yeah Pano, I think you could make some heads turn with a pair of 19's. Both of these fests look great but I'm not sure I could go to a fest where I can't wear my pointy ears...... (kidding)

Wish I was closer, I would bring my 19s and look forward to hearing all the other gear as well! I've heard some fine OB designs lately. They have superb imaging and clarity and balance. However they didn't seem to be able to play certain kinds of music at live like levels. The 19s may not be best of show but they can, (IMO) be pleasantly impressive at high volumes when set up properly. I like em loud!
